J. Miguel Hernandez - Photographer's Journey

In 1965, J. Miguel Hernandez arrived in Key West, Florida, with his family, eventually making Miami their home. After completing his college education, he discovered a passion for photography, which would shape his future.

In 1978, J. Miguel opened the doors of J. Miguel Photo Studios, a business that would evolve into a 40-year success story. Over the years, J. Miguel earned numerous local, state, and regional awards, and his exceptional talent helped him achieve the prestigious title of Master Photographer. His work became a staple in the community, celebrated for its artistry and technical excellence.

In 2011, J. Miguel and his wife adopted three children—two girls and one boy—and made a significant life change. They relocated their family and the studio/gallery to Roswell, Georgia, where J. Miguel shifted his focus toward a more artistic form of photography: nature and landscape photography. This new chapter reflected his growing passion for capturing the beauty of the natural world.

In a further development, J. Miguel and his family have recently relocated to Cape Coral, Florida. While continuing to create stunning photographic art, he remains dedicated to his craft, always seeking to push the boundaries of his creativity. For J. Miguel, the pursuit of his dream never ends.

The Art of Seeing

Nature is my greatest inspiration because it is constantly changing—no two days ever look the same. The shifting interplay of rain, light, mist, fog, and wind transforms the world before my eyes. Before I press the shutter, I already see the image in my mind. I notice the details that many might overlook—the way sunlight filters through trees at a specific time of day, the golden glow of autumn versus the crisp clarity of winter light. Every photograph is a deliberate fusion of my vision, the right lens, technical precision, and the ever-changing conditions of the moment.
