69B: The Emerald Threshold

Tucked into the warm, winding streets of historic St. Augustine, Florida, I found myself drawn to a doorway unlike any other. Framed by a soft, sun-washed beige wall, the bold emerald arch of door 69B stood like a secret waiting to be told. The red moulding that traced its curves brought a pulse of old-world charm, hinting at centuries of footsteps and whispered stories behind it.

There was something magnetic about the way the colors danced in the afternoon light—how the textures of time had settled into the wood and plaster. As a photographer, I search for places where history and character collide, and this door felt like a perfect still point in a city that has seen so much.

It wasn’t just a doorway—it was a story sealed in green and red, numbers etched in quiet confidence, inviting anyone who passed to imagine what lives inside.
