Jacinto's Hole: The Breath of the Rocks

As a photographer drawn to the pulse of nature, I found myself standing barefoot on the rugged edges of a Caribbean shoreline—no soft sand beneath me, just ancient volcanic rock worn smooth by time and tide. What first looked like a simple hole in the stone revealed itself to be nature’s own geyser: with every incoming wave, the sea would inhale, then exhale violently upward in a blast of white foam and mist.

Through that small opening, framed perfectly by raw, weathered rock, you could see the endless stretch of aqua blue—the kind of blue that only exists in places untouched, where the water stays honest and wild. Timing was everything. Each shot demanded patience, balance, and a little bit of daring as the ocean danced its rhythmic power beneath me.

This moment is a reminder that even the smallest openings can connect us to the vast, breathing world around us—if we’re willing to stand still and feel it.
